Well, as "Voyna i mir" was a fourparter, the different years are not really a wonder.
As far as I remeber "historic news" this production is called "the most expensive production in the history of the USSR". And as those vour parts all have their length, they were released in different years (at least in USSR, don't know the rest of the world).
Mine say: Part 1 in 1965, Part 2 in 1966 and Part 3 + 4 in 1967

I got no idea how the award-add on technically works. My last post was nothing else than a presumption.

But meanwhile I am not that sure if the year matters so much entered in the profile.

"Journey Into Self" (Documentary) won the Award in '69. It was released in '69 (year in my profile as well), too - but I got the see the Oscar allready for '68.

And to avoid any possible misspellings: I copied "Voyna i mir" from the Awards-Database into the profile of every single title as OT (each part on a different disc, I had the "full" OT before = Voyna i mir + name of the "episode") - but no change...

It is at least the plan to honor the films of the time since the last cerenomy, but at least for those from different years it only works, if I change the profile of the movie to the "wrong" year or add the award myself to the database.

Example "Voyna i mir" (Krieg und Frieden), the russian 4-partner of 1965. Got an Oscar in 1969 and is in the database for '68... without a change of the awards-data or the profile I don't see the Oscar there

Some worries I don't understand so much...
Well, with my old computer I had to avoid add ons and tools, but now with a new machine I was hot on the Awards-Tool.

And got shocked!

Was this planned that the year of the Academy Awards is always -1 to the year they were given?

I respect the huge load of time spent to get all the data, but I am confused, when e. g. "Camelot" who got some Oscars in 1968 is listed in the database for all of them with "1967"

I'll give it a try.

Altough I don't exactly understand what connection you are searching for?
imo if there is a year behind the award, this should be the year when the award was given.

Maybe best to understand my worries: Check out any year of the Academy Awards in the tool
and compare this data with the Academy Awards on Wikipedia - one year later!
And you will find out that the data is the same

That's true in something like 95 % of the cases...
but there are some in between, where the year of the Award is the same as the year of the movie, and others sometimes are 2 or 3 years before.

So this way I think the assumption goes wrong that way:

When the headline says "Academy Award (19XX)"

The year in brackets should show the year of the Awards, not of the movie. Doesn't it?

That looks as what I was looking for. I'll give it a try
Thankx

Maybe I am the only one who has a load of own recordings, but quite sure I am not.

While working on the database for some days I had to recognized, that for a load of them I never checked the cover size and at least for the ones I just found this out, it was a huge load to reduce the size to 500 pixels width. Some of them "only" were about 750 pixels, but I even had some original scans with something like 1200 pixels...

But how many covers are there still in my collection needing much too much space with the wrong size?
Or alternatively: Some I got from here are (horribly bad) pictures found "anywhere" online before contributing and might have just a size of 300 pixels.

So it is interesting to find out if there is available any toll/add on which checks the cover size of every single profile, in theory with the option to chose the search process for "too big", "too small" or even "both options"

Any idea if I only didn't find what's allready available?

Well, with my old computer I had to avoid too many add ons, but for about 6 months I have a new one, and so I care more than just a little bit about awards, too.
So the Awards-Tool is great stuff. Respect for the ones who did all the data.
So far I am mostly on the Academy Award, quite sure the other awards will be kind of "interesting" later, too, but the Oscar might cost me a lot of time.

So now using the tool with it's database, I got a shock!
Practically ALL Oscars are in the database with one year to early!

E. g. "Asphalt-Cowboy" (OT: "Midnight Cowboy") recieved several Oscars at the Academy Awards in 1970 - but they are all listed in the tool with 1969.

Am I the first one who recognized this?
If not: Do you care about that?

I do for one simple reason: Academy Awards are always around the beginning of April. And now - in case of Asphalt-Cowboy - I have to ask, how a movie could be honored in the beginning of April when it started at cinema at the end of May?

Sorry for the late answer... don't know how this happened, but I checked "subsribe" before releasing the thread - and never got any info.
Well, I decided to avoid installation of further tools... I do it the way with new IDs
And I mostly don't need any Alt. Version as most of the profiles I needed this for "only" exist with the ID of former Windows

For quite some time I didn't want to do kind of child profiles with Alt. ID if there are several movies on one disc. Meanwhile I changed and started to do.... but it was shocking to find out, that on my new PC (now with Win11) the DiscIDs of the same Discs I created the profiles with Win8.5 (or even XP) no are different:

Example:
Win8.5
BB66DADD24A03E01 [FILMPERLEN_DER_60ER_DISC5]

Win11
66EECD4F1DDD7582 [FILMPERLEN_DER_60ER_DISC5]

Is this something known? Could I do anything with Windows 11 that it still reads the IDs the same way the former version did?
